4-Year Old Kindergarten
TenderHearts Learning Center offers 4-year-old kindergarten in collaboration with the Howard-Suamico School District.
Our program provides a weekly curriculum designed by a DPI licensed teacher and focuses on learning through play. The curriculum is based on the school year September through June, and follows the school district’s calendar.
Each week the children are taught new lessons to include: a weekly theme, letters of the day, shapes, numerical recognition, Second Step Social/Emotional curriculum, field trips along with learning safety bus rules and behavior, and emphasis on nature-based play.
In addition to this daily curriculum, children will:
- Participate in free play with individual choices
- Be encouraged in muscle growth and development for entire body
- Be taught responsibilities by maintaining their work space
- Learn about nature and weather
From these your child will experience a sense of self-esteem, acquire learning and problem-solving skills, language and social skills, and will have learned all the necessary skills required for entry into kindergarten. Our 4-year-old kindergarten curriculum will prepare your child for 5-year-old kindergarten.
Each spring we have a Graduation ceremony with caps, gowns, and diplomas to send off our ‘class of the year’ into 5-year-old kindergarten. It is a Center-wide family picnic with chicken booyah and a potluck dinner, horse drawn wagon rides, and entertainment.
This has become an annual family favorite event!!
